Farm Pictures
Here are some of the views of the farm. These animals are raised on 250 Acres of grassy pasture, and are given haylage and grain daily. New Jersey has a good climate for raising the American Bison, and our current herd of 113 bison has plenty of grazing room.

Here is an autumn view of the farm- we have a beautiful backdrop of fall foliage.

'Buffalo in Snow' - This was taken by Ellie Kuzinski, of Ellie's Images 2002. One of our favorite pictures. Notice the thick wooly fur protecting this beautiful animal from the snow and cold.
This shot overlooks the
main barn. The large silo to the right is where
the haylage is stored for the winter months.
This picture
was taken in the spring of 2000. This calf is about one week old .
Notice the red color of the calf's coat. This color was drastically change
over the next 3 - 4 months to the dark brown color of the adult.

This is Gerry with one of our calves. This calf was nursed back to health by Gerry after a pneumonia. (which is the only reason he is in the same pen as the calf. A few months after this was taken, the calf became way too big and dangerous to get this close)

This is a winter scene at the farm. The bison grow very thick wooly coats which are extremely warm in winter. They shed this layer in the spring. The bison 'wool' is able to be woven into clothing with a quality similar to cashmere.

Bert and Gerry are throwing hay into the truck for the bison - They seem to enjoy their work don't they!?
