The Roundup is
one of the most exciting events we have at the farm.
Every animal in our herd goes through our handling system to be weighed, vaccinated,
and sent out to pasture for summer grazing.
We have an enthusiastic group of volunteers from Rutgers University, veterinary
professionals, as well as family friends helping out.
The herd is cut into small groups, and sorted through a maze of gates and
pens until
we have them on the scale and ready to be examined and vaccinated.
We do NOT give them any growth stimulants or unnecessary antibiotics.
Although participation is restricted due to the risks involved, we welcome
you to come and watch the excitement.
You will be as close to the bison as safety permits, from our smallest yearling
to our largest breeding bull.
